About us

Located in the heart of the Klondike, the Dawson City Dog Sports Club is a constituted
of small group of volunteers, who are dog powered sports enthusiasts that are
committed to keeping the Spirit of the North alive through year-round events, education
and trail-blazing ventures.

What We Do

From the frost of winter to the dusty trails of summer, we organize a variety of events
designed to challenge teams and showcase the incredible bond between humans and
canines. Whether it’s mushing, skijoring, bikejoring, kicksledding or canicross, our club
provides a platform for both competitive athletes and recreational enthusiasts to hit the
trails.

Our signature Event: The Percy DeWolfe Memorial Mail Race

We are the proud organizers of the legendary Percy DeWolfe Memorial Mail Race.
Following the historic route established by “The Iron Man of the North” in 1910, this race
is more than just a competition; it is a tribute to the endurance and grit required to
deliver mail between Dawson City, Yukon, and Eagle, Alaska.

Why We Gather

  • Heritage: Preserving the history of dog powered sports in the Yukon.
  • Community: Connecting local dog powered sports enthusiasts through shared
    passion.
  • Sportsmanship: Promoting the highest standards of canine care and trail etiquette.
  • Adventure: Providing world-class racing experiences in the rugged beauty of the
    Klondike.

“Whether you have a team of 20 or just one high-energy companion, there is a place for you on the trails!”

If you want to volunteer for the upcoming Percy DeWolfe race, please get in touch by
